The great need for this program is indisputable. Graduation rates are deplorable, resulting in the need for college prep.  Math is the single largest impediment to the GED.

 

Students benefit from assistance with school homework; college prep tests, and job math requirements.  Tests for first responders and the military include math; blueprints need translation; and various professions have a math component for certification.

THIS OPPORTUNITY IS OFFERED AT NO COST TO THE STUDENT.

Some years ago, in what might be called a pilot program, was undertaken, in conjunction with the Hartford Public Library.  Despite minimal publicity, classes averaged about 10 students for 2 hours, 2 nights a week.  It was truly a "student centered" program.

Learn For Life, Inc. is collaborating with the Hartford Public Library, who will provide assistance with student recruitment and a classroom on Wednesday and Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m., located at 500 Main Street, Hartford CT. Classes are open to Hartford residents needing enhanced math skills. 

Learn For Life is a nonprofit 501-c-3 organization, needing funds for operating costs such as instructors, office supplies, copying, laptop computer, advertising and marketing. Any donation, large or small, will be greatly appreciated.
